Materials and Safety
At Lucy Eley Art, every piece is created with care - from the materials I choose to the way each order is packaged. I want you to feel confident that the artwork you bring into your home is made safely, responsibly, and with long‑lasting quality in mind.
Art materials
Original watercolours & drawings
I use professional‑grade, non‑toxic materials throughout my work, including:
- 100% cotton or archival art papers
- Lightfast watercolour paints
- Pigment‑based inks
- High‑quality graphite and coloured pencils
These materials are designed for fine art use and are safe for handling and display.
Alcohol ink artwork
Alcohol ink pieces are created on Yupo or primed surfaces using artist‑grade inks. All artworks are fully cured and sealed before leaving the studio.
Fine art prints
My prints are produced using:
- Archival, acid‑free fine art papers
- Pigment‑based inks
- Professional giclée printing processes
This ensures longevity, colour accuracy, and a museum‑quality finish.
Greeting cards
Cards are printed using non‑toxic inks. They are simple paper products with no hazardous components.
Framed artwork
Some pieces are available framed. I use:
- Commercially manufactured frames
- Acrylic or glass glazing
- Standard hanging hardware
- Acid‑free mounts
Frames are sourced from reputable suppliers and are suitable for normal household use.
Packaging
Your order is packed with great care using a combination of:
- Glassine or acid‑free tissue
- Protective wrap
- Rigid mailers, tubes, or sturdy boxes
- Recyclable or low‑impact packaging wherever possible
This ensures your artwork arrives safely and beautifully presented.
Safety & compliance
All products offered by Lucy Eley Art are low‑risk, non‑hazardous items made from materials intended for artistic or commercial printing use. They meet general safety expectations for consumer goods and are suitable for home display and handling.
If you ever have questions about materials, care, or framing, I’m always happy to help.
